Mimmo Ristorante

One of the best places in Newcastle i have ever been. Tasty and fresh food, very friendly atmosphere and great look inside. Since I have been there first time did not found any better place to eat ... love this place and people there.

Best & TRUE Italian food I have ever had. Always fresh, always taste great. Never been let down by quality of food. Try Pizza - eat one & U'll never go somewhere else, Lasagne, Cannelloni, and all kind of pastas are great. My favorite place to eat down the toon and have a good time. Very friendly atmosphere, the staff will make U always laugh. Can't believe someone could give just one star (must have had very bad attitude at the time). Pick this place and U'll get 100% satisfaction.

About as bad as they come. Waited in the reception area for 5 minutes, and was ignored by a scruffy waiter (with a tattoo on his neck) every time he came in. Eventually we were told to sit and wait by a young waitress, even though the restaurant was only 1/3 full. Eventually shown to our table and a drinks order was taken. After 25 minutes of being ignored by all the staff (who seemed more interested in the thriving social club which they had set up round the till), I stood up and complained loudly.

The manager (was he really in charge?) had a disdainful, angry look on his face.... I could tell what he thought of me for daring to complain. We left and no apology was given.

By the way, I'm Italian by birth and this is just an imitation of what an Italian restaurant should be. A few old chianti bottles hanging from the ceiling would complete the cheesy look.

Don't bother with places like this. Awful.

Wow wot can we say! We picked Mimmo Ristorante as a spur of the moment thing and rang at about 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. The guy on the phone was very accommodating at 8.30 an were seated straight away. The restaurant was very busy but we were not kept waiting. My partner asked for the avocado starter and myself the homemade pate. My partner was told within seconds that his starter was unavailable and he chose instead the calamari. Just having retuned from Spain where my partner had fresh calamari he said it was as good as if not better. Would recommend the Salomone affumicato absolutly melt in the mouth delicious. We will be using Mimmo Ristorante alot in the future. Well done guys 10 out of 10

Had a lovely time at Mimmo's, all 15 of us were well looked after by the friendly staff and the food was amazing. Very good value for money as well from the specials menu.

I will definitely go back.

Italian food is my favourite and Mimmo Ristorante has now become my new favourite restaurant after a recent visit with my other half.
