Very appalling service.I couldn't recommend this restaurant any lesser.
We were there today for lunch, and my friend who was vegetarian asked the waiter (the English one) if he could have a bowl of Udon with Vegetables.
I am an ardent cook at home and for me, this is not much to ask for is it? The waiter says "yes" and smiled. We thought he obliged. I, on the other hand asked about the item "Chicken Shoyu" ramen and what is it like?
The waiter did NOT even made any effort. He said immediately "I HAVE NO IDEA". In good restaurant service manner, you would say "I am not sure, but I will enquire the kitchen and get back to you".
When my friend's vegetarian noodles arrived, we were both shocked. We both go out and dine with friends at many restaurants and often at Oriental (Japanese & Chinese) restaurants, so we know good food when we see one.
The vegetarian noodles consisted of only udon, tiny strips of seaweed & a bunch of soggy bean sprouts. The whole lunch experience was very bad and I would NOT recommend anyone to this restaurant for lunch.
It is a shame that I have to put at least one star to the rating above. If I had a choice, there would not even be a star.If the waiter had no enthusiastic to work and serve his customers on a Sunday afternoon, he should not have come in to work.
This will only affect the reputation of the restaurant.Honestly I have been to this restaurants for Teppanyaki a number of times in the past, and have had good experience, but this particular lunch experience is going to put me off the restaurant permanently.
I also wonder is this the reason why in the entire hour that we were there, we were the ONLY ONES who were there? We were originally going to have Dim Sum in Stowell Street but the restaurants there were buzzing and packed with people.
I can only say that we are disappointed with the food and service of Fujiyama,
