Good friday booked table for 12-30 ordered steak & ale pie with pastry top turned out to be steak pie pastry top & bottom not much steak in it.

Service was extremelly slow ordered main course at 12-30 got sweet at

2-30 had to ask where it was twice other customers with children were complaining of wait for meals.

2 hours for 2 courses never again

As a Shields lad I always viewed the Bamburgh as a bog standard estate pub rather than an eating place. How wrong I was.

Calling in with friends just before Christmas I was amazed at the varied menu on offer. 2 meals for £7.95, a coffee and a sweet for £2.99 and the mixed grill at £8.50 would have fed a busload.

We were all very impressed and have been back 3 times since with the same outstanding value & quality. Well pleased and don't even get me started about the Speckled Hen
