We organised a party at the pub on Saturday 14 Jan for my husband's 'big' birthday. Phillipa could not have been more helpful and the party was VERY successful. The buffet was AMAZING and every one of our 70 guests complimented the amount, variety and quality of the food. Phillipa was very helpful and accommodating with regard to the food, wine and music and made the whole event very relaxing for me. The staff, too, were very friendly and attentive throughout the eveing. Thank you everyone for making the party so successful.Margaret Ball

Excellent food and I don't mind waiting at all for freshly prepared food.. Those that don't enjoy the social experience of dining out should perhaps visit the frozen food and prepared for the microwave type of pub!!

The food, if you ever get it, is pretty good pub food. However the entire place is let down by the appalling service including massive waiting times even when there are hardly any customers and unhelpful staff. We waited for 90 minutes after ordering before the food arrived, the staff then attempted to serve our two year old with a plate which was so hot it burnt my partner to touch and then seemed surprised when this was considered a problem! It's really not worth the hassle, avoid.

Love Sun Inn so much! Everything cooked from fresh and on site, and boy you can tell. Sunday lunch is the best in the North-east and we eat out a lot! Great value for money, helpful hardworking staff. Food is just lovely. Love it love it love it!

We visited this pub by chance and what a find!! Fantastic food and outstanding service. The staff were very accommodating and couldn't do enough for our 3 year old daughter. Many thanks we'll be back very soon.

Food was really good value and tasty
